saverick LAB

Community

We need people more than
we need money.

Saverick is self-funded and pre-launch. The things standing between a prototype and a classroom are not cheques — they are a teacher who will pilot it, an engineer who will coach a team, and someone who knows what "loop" should be called in Bemba.

What we actually need

Get a language right

Urgent

Native speakers and teachers

Every block, lesson and voice line is written and reviewed by native speakers working with teachers. Machine translation is not good enough for a child learning to reason in their own language — a wrong word for "loop" teaches the wrong idea.

Time
A few hours a month, in batches. No coding needed.
Requirements
  • Fluent native speaker (written and spoken) of an African partner language
  • Comfortable explaining everyday concepts clearly to learners aged 7–18
  • Able to review 1–2 short terminology batches per month online
You get
  • Credited on your profile and in the language pack
  • A say in how your contributions are used
  • Early access to the packs you help build

Start a chapter

Urgent

Students, teachers, hub leaders

Run a club at your school or in your city. You bring the room and the people; we send a starter pack, a club page and a monthly build-night format so you are not inventing a programme from scratch.

Time
One build night a month to start.
Requirements
  • A safe meeting space (classroom, university lab, library, or community hub)
  • At least 5 learners or builders to form the founding group
  • 1–2 laptops or desktops (works 100% offline once installed)
You get
  • Chapter starter pack and kit credit
  • Ambassador training and recognition
  • A club page other Savericans can find

Coach a team

Engineers and university students

Review projects, answer questions in the forums, and coach Arena teams through a competition. You do not need to be a robotics specialist — most questions are about debugging, not kinematics.

Time
Two to four hours a month.
Requirements
  • Working experience in Python, C/C++, electronics, or STEM teaching
  • Patience to guide learners through debugging without writing code for them
  • Agreement to Saverick’s youth safeguarding and mentor code of conduct
You get
  • Listed in the mentor network
  • Direct line to the engineering team
  • First look at the SDK and Core APIs

Contribute a build

Makers, teachers, developers

Publish custom blocks, lessons or Sim worlds through the SDK. A good lesson written once gets used by every class that follows, which is a better use of an afternoon than almost anything else.

Time
One project, whenever you have one.
Requirements
  • Basic familiarity with block programming, MicroPython, Embedded C++, or 3D assets
  • Clear wiring diagram or simulator test case so classrooms can reproduce it
  • Willingness to license shared lessons for open classroom use
You get
  • Credited on every remix of your work
  • Featured in the monthly build round-up
  • Early SDK access

Pilot it in a classroom

Urgent

Schools and youth hubs

Run Saverick with a real class and tell us what breaks. Pilot partners shape the product through the teacher council and see features before anyone else — including the ones that turn out to be wrong.

Time
A term, with our support.
Requirements
  • A school, TVET college, or youth hub with a designated lead educator
  • A class or club cohort of 10+ learners meeting weekly for one school term
  • Short fortnightly feedback check-in with the Saverick product team
You get
  • Teacher training included
  • A seat on the teacher council
  • Kits and Classroom licences for the pilot

Where it goes

Nobody starts as an ambassador. The path is the point.

  1. Explorer You are learning. Sensors, loops, first robots.
  2. Builder You are making things that solve something real.
  3. Maker You publish builds other people remix.
  4. Mentor You coach teams and answer in the forums.
  5. Ambassador You run a chapter and represent Saverick.

Cookies and storage

Saverick sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising pixels or trackers. Two things are kept in your own browser and never leave your device: the theme you pick, and a note that you have already seen the loading screen.

One thing is optional. Our animated diagrams load their player from Cloudflare's CDN, which tells Cloudflare your IP address. Turn that off and you get the still diagrams instead — everything else on the site works exactly the same.
